Radon & Mold Professionals licensed Mold Assessors (inspectors) provide detailed reports with industry accepted recommendations for corrections for North Naples Mold Inspections-Naples Mold Inspections-Mold Inspections -Marco Island Mold Inspections and for all of Southwest Florida.

High humidity in your home can cause mold growth, a "humidity bloom". Naples homeowners have learned that John Cosgrove, a licensed mold inspector that is also a experienced Certified Indoor Environmentalist can find the cause (source) of their mold contamination. Humidity blooms can be caused by several different conditions. Without proven experience your Naples mold inspector may not really find the source and in time your mold problem will reoccur.

Reliable information sources such as the EPA tell us that mold sampling (testing) alone should not be used to determine if your Naples home has a "mold problem". Mold air sampling ( testing) helps determine if a comprehensive mold inspection is warranted.

Toxic or pathogenic mold is another confusing phase used by Naples inspectors, who don't collect samples (mold tests) that can be used to determine if a mold produces mycotoxins. Almost every mold inspector collect samples that are identified to the genus level NOT the species level, which is needed to identify if mold is capable of producing mycotoxins. Does your mold inspector even know if his or her sample is only to the genus level? Although some of the over 200 species of Genus "Aspergillus" molds can produce mycotoxins, many do not CDC: "The term "toxic mold" is not accurate."

 Moisture Intrusions promote Mold growth.

These mold photos were added not to scare anyone; but we see these problems daily in our mold inspection business.  There are thousands of Condos in the Naples, Estero, Bonita Springs and North Naples area and most never have a problem.  Home owners need to be aware of the small problems in their home as soon as possible because as the problem "grows" the cost of repairs increases dramatically.

All Naples Mold Inspection Reports are NOT equal, look at our sample mold report to see what at a minimum should be included.  Naples mold inspection requires more time than a typical home inspection for example.

Radon & Mold Professionals has four Certified Indoor Environmentalist who are Florida licensed mold assessors performing mold inspections (assessments) and mold sampling (tests) in the Naples, FL area. All of our mold assessors have over 10 years of experience.

Naples homebuyers need to understand that Air Sampling for mold (referred to often as a mold test) is used to help determine if a mold remediation was successful and to help determine the extent of a mold contamination during a preliminary mold assessment. “Air Quality” Mold testing or mold air sampling alone should not be used to determine if a home has a mold “problem”.  The Source of any mold problem must be identified.

New York City Department of Health, Bureau of Environmental & Occupational Disease Epidemiology

A visual inspection is the most important initial step in identifying a possible contamination problem.

North Dakota Department of Health

Testing is not recommended as the first step to determine if you have a mold problem.

Minnesota Department of Health

Poor reason for testing #1 “To find out if there is mold”

Poor reason for testing #2 “To identify what type of mold is present”

Poor reason for testing #3 “To learn if the mold is the toxic kind”

Consumer tips from the DBPR

 Why Hire a Licensed Person?

  • A licensed person has the required education, experience, insurance and qualifications to obtain a license.  They must pass a competency examination before practicing.
  • Licensed individuals are screened for prior criminal history.
  • The department can discipline and even revoke a license if the person does not live up to professional standards.  This is a not a total safeguard, but is a strong incentive for the licensee to do good work.
  • You may be able to sue the licensee in civil court for problems related to the work done.

Dangers of Hiring an Unlicensed Person

  • Poor qualifications.  Unlicensed persons typically do not have the education, insurance, or qualification required of a licensee.
  • Possible criminal background.  Unlicensed persons often have criminal backgrounds that may include fraud, theft, violent crime, sexual offenses, and substance abuse.
